How Nova Mines collects, uses and protects personal information, and the rights you have over it under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

01Who we are.

Nova Mines is a company incorporated in Ghana and part of the Duston Group. It operates Dompim Pepesa Mines (DPEPS) in the Western Region.

For the purposes of the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), Nova Mines is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

Confirm registered company name, company number, registered address and Data Protection Commission registration number.

02What we collect.

If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, telephone number, subject and message you provide. If you apply for a role, we collect the application material you send us. If you write to us, we hold that correspondence.

Our hosting provider records standard server logs, which may include IP address, browser type and pages requested. These are used for security and availability.

We do not collect special category data through this website, and you should not send it to us unsolicited.

03Why we process it.

To respond to enquiries, assess job applications, manage supplier and community relationships, meet legal and regulatory obligations, and keep the site secure.

  • Consent, where you submit information to us voluntarily.
  • Contract, where processing is necessary to take steps at your request or to perform an agreement.
  • Legal obligation, where a law or regulator requires it.
  • Legitimate interests, in running and protecting the business.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

04Who we share it with.

Staff who need it for the purpose it was given, and where relevant other Duston Group entities.

Service providers who host the site, deliver email or support recruitment, under contract and only on our instructions.

Regulators, auditors or law enforcement where we are legally required to disclose.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

05Transfers outside Ghana.

Some service providers may process data outside Ghana. Where that happens we take steps to ensure a comparable standard of protection, consistent with Act 843.

Confirm which providers, which countries, and the safeguard relied on.

06How long we keep it.

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards.

Unsuccessful job applications are kept for period to confirm unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Records we are required to retain by law are kept for the statutory period.

07Your rights.

Under Act 843 you may:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you and request a copy.
  • Ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Object to processing, or ask us to stop where we relied on your consent.
  • Ask for erasure where there is no continuing lawful basis to hold it.

Write to info@novaminesglobal.com and we will respond within the period required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

08Security and breaches.

We apply organisational and technical measures appropriate to the risk. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information while it is in transit to us.

If a breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify the Data Protection Commission and, where required, you.

09Children.

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

10Changes to this policy.

We may update this policy. The version published on this page is the one in force, and the date it was last updated is shown at the top. Material changes will be flagged here.
